Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can we schedule a tasting?
A. Absolutely, we provide complimentary tastings for events with 50 or more guests. If your event will have fewer than 50 guests, we would be happy to set up a tasting for a small fee covering our costs. Prior to the tasting, we will need to discuss your vision for the event, and dietary restrictions that we need to consider, and determine specific menu items that you would like to taste. We ask that you limit tasting attendees to four people or less.
Q. How does your pricing work?
A. We understand that many events are planned on a tight budget and we do our best to make our pricing reasonable and clear. All menu items are accompanied by a set price. Please keep in mind that gratuity (18%) and sales tax (usually 8%) are added to the estimate, totaling an additional 26% from the base total. Preparation of your menu items is included in the base price, however delivery and event staffing fees are not included and may be extra, depending on the nature of the event. A 50% estimated deposit is due at time of booking. Deposits are required to reserve services and must be received at least two weeks prior to the event. This deposit, less a 10% service fee, is fully refundable if the event is cancelled with at least 30 days notice. All prices quoted are based on a cash/check purchase. RRC charges sales tax based on the tax percentage allocated by the municipality where services are rendered. Final Payment for your event is due by the conclusion of your event. Other payment terms may be negotiated on a case by case basis. Additional balances not received within 10 business days after the event will be assessed an additional 5% late payment fee.
Q. Can you tailor menus around dietary restrictions?
A. Yes, we are happy to develop a whole event menu with dietary restrictions in mind, or simply create personalized plates for those with allergies or on a restricted diet.
Q. Do you have china, flatware and other supplies?
Yes, we have buffet tables, china, flatware, and wine glasses for over 200 people - small rental fees apply. We do not supply dining tables or linens. If your event is based in Kittitas County, we suggest Party Barn Rentals for your table, chair, and linen needs. Please refer to our event resources page for their contact information.
Q. When do you need a final guest count?
For most events, a final guest count is due 7 days prior to the event date(s). If clients need to increase the guest count, within 7 days of the event, RRC will make every effort to accommodate the request. Additional fees and charges MAY apply beyond the normal agreed upon expenses outlined within the catering contract.
Q. Can I pick up my order?
A. Yes, we welcome pickups for small orders such as platters and box lunches. We are located at the Roslyn Café on the corner of 2nd and Pennsylvania Avenue in downtown Roslyn. Pickups must be arranged in advance.
Q. Do you offer your catering services outside Kittitas County? Will you cater my event in another county?
A. We focus our marketing efforts on Kittitas County and central Washington in general. That said, yes, we have catered large events in Western Washington and other central Washington counties and we would be happy to discuss how we might work together. We are hesitant to book winter events in Western Washington, as winter storms may hinder our ability to cross the mountain pass. Additional fees will also apply. Our Food Service Permit is valid in Kittitas County only, meaning that we need to purchase a Temporary Food Service Permit from the county where the event will take place, and also...cargo vans get terrible gas mileage.
